Friars Hill Stables has a myriad of horse riding activities to suit most of its clients wishes. If you would like to do something and don't see it below then please feel free to ask and we will see what we can do.

Little Own A Pony Days

These generally run on Mondays during school holidays where we hold a morning session from 9.30am ‘til noon. Children come along and learn about ponies, by grooming them and learning how to tack up, they also will receive riding tuition. The cost for this event is £25.00 per child and it is payable in full at booking. The children are asked to wear a long sleeved top, dress appropriately for the weather conditions and bring along a small snack and a drink.

Come along and enjoy an escorted hack/trek around some of our beautiful local countryside taking in some spectacular views along the way. All hacks are accompanied by our experienced and qualified members of staff and can be either one or two hours in length (depending upon the rider’s experience). Clients must be a minimum of 8 years of age to take part and be competent. For our less experienced riders we can offer you a walk out for an hour or for 30 minutes. The pace of all hacks/treks will be dictated by the ability of the riders and the nature of the terrain. Costs for hacking are available on the Prices page.

Birthday Parties

Friars Hill Stables can offer you a birthday party with a difference - A Pony Party, this takes the hassle out of thinking of something different to celebrate your child’s special day. The children can come along and ride for up to an hour and then you may have use of our club room upstairs for 30-45 minutes afterwards. Children must be 4 years or older to ride and must have completed a rider registration form. Parties for up to 8 riders will be £100.00 and 9-12 riders will be charged at £130.00.

Anyone wishing to ride a Friars Hill Stables horse/pony in any of our competitions MUST have completed at least one of our Competition Training Sessions – no exceptions will be made to this rule!
